SUPPORTING THE PROGRAMME

The ‘Inspiring Hospitality Careers’ project was developed by the Edge Hotel School to challenge the increasing skill shortages and promote a positive image of the hospitality industry.

PHASE 1

Phase 1, launched in October 2017, involved delivering innovative career guidance directly to young people and challenging misconceptions so as to make hospitality an aspirational industry and career of choice.

PHASE 2

Phase 2, launched in March 2019, builds on this by training careers teachers, delivering CPD events and providing contemporary and enjoyable learning materials that can be incorporated into a range of class settings and, thereby inspire the next generation of hospitality professionals.
77%
Of businesses across the UK feel the quality of careers advice received in education is not good enough to help young people make informed decisions about
future career options.
40%
